MOVING "THROUGH" YOUR ESSAY
There is no one way to write! There are stages in the writing process: collecting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing. The truth is, I often draft before I plan. I tend to go back and plan after I've drafted some work.
The writing process is recursive meaning that it doesn't progress in a straight line. You could skip stages, move back, and jump forward. You can also be in two stages at the same time. For example, I often revise as I draft. Below are some resources to help you move through your writing process. The links can be used in any order and at any time.
