What are TED Talks?
TED Talks are relatively short videos (around 18 minutes, don't worry ours will be between 4-10 mins) from some of the most engaging speakers around the world. Some famous TED speakers include Bono, J. J. Abrams, Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, and Stephen Hawking. These videos cover an endless range of topics, initially about Technology, Entertainment, and Design (TED), but now incorporating any number of subjects.
What will our TED Talks look like?
Each student will choose a topic of interest to investigate. After the initial research phase, you will create a "thesis" you may want to communucate through your work, the angle you will take on your topic. Then, you will create create/find visuals to support and develop your "thesis". The goal of TED Talks is to teach the audience and to open their eyes to something new. Maybe even get them to see something familiar in a new light. Once your research is complete and you have collected your visuals, you will begin recording and rehearsing your TED Talk.
